WATSON TRACTORS & EQ. INC.
The land was purchased in 1978 and in 1979 the building was erected and was opened as a GM dealership name Warmington Pontiac Buick. It served the community from 1979 to 1981. The building stood empty in 1981. In 1982 it was purchased by Alex Watson and was rented to K-Brand for storage. In 1984 Alex and his sons Ron and Jamie opened a ford tractor dealership called Watson Farm Enterprises at this site. They operated it until 1988. Lloyd and Cathy Watson owned a ford tractor dealership at West Montrose, but when New Holland bought the ford tractor franchise, there was a over abundance of dealers in the Elmira area. They were looking to relocate and Alex was interested in selling his location. Watson’s bought the dealership in 1988. The name changed to Watson Tractors & Eq. Inc. in 1995. In 2005 Watson Tractors are a servicing dealer for farm and lawn and garden equipment carrying New Holland, Stihl, Toro, Troy Bilt, Agro Trend and a large selection of short line agricultural equipment and employ 10 people.
